Springtime is a season of rejuvenation, and what better way to celebrate its arrival than by immersing oneself in a vibrant garden extravaganza? Last week, a member of The Freelance Florist team had the pleasure of attending the RHS Malvern Spring Festival, a truly inspiring experience. A few of the best bits from the show…
The Enchanting Gardens
The stunning display of enchanting gardens at the show, clustered in the middle of the show grounds, were a real draw for the crowds. Each one was beautiful and the planting and concepts really elevated them beyond just landscaped spaces. Each space captivated the senses with its unique theme and artistic vision and the blend of colors, scents, and textures was truly breathtaking.
Florals on Show
The festival was a haven for flower enthusiasts, showcasing an array of captivating floral exhibits. Expert florists and nurseries displayed their most exquisite blooms, showcasing the latest trends in floral design. From striking arrangements to delicate bouquets, the talent and skill on display were awe-inspiring. It was a true celebration of the artistry and versatility of flowers.
Educational Talks and Demonstrations
One of the highlights of the RHS Malvern Spring Festival was the opportunity to attend educational talks and workshops conducted by industry experts. These sessions offered valuable insights into gardening techniques, plant care, and sustainable practices. Everywhere you looked there was an opportunity to learn from renowned horticulturists and gain practical knowledge that you could apply to your own gardening and floral design endeavors. The Jonathan Mosley demonstrations were particularly special.
The Trade Stands
The festival's showground was a bustling hub of activity, featuring an exciting range of exhibitors, local artisans, and specialty vendors. From unique garden sculptures to artisanal products and gourmet treats, there was something to pique everyone's interest. The floral marquee (the gardeners shopping mall!) was bursting with this years most popular plants. Not many people went home empty handed that’s for sure. One of the best bits about the stands is always the way they dress them up for the occasion, some of the trade stalls are as amazing as the specific floral inspirations in some instances! We particularly loved meeting and seeing the stand of Dahlia Beech as well as all of the wonderful artisans in the Country Living tent - a superbly curated selection of beautiful things.
The Malvern Landscape
Nestled at the foot of the Malvern Hills, the festival's location added an extra layer of beauty to the experience. The scenic surroundings provided a stunning backdrop for the event, and you could see them reflected in the inspirations for the show gardens and trade stands.
Attending the 2023 RHS Malvern Spring Festival was a wonderful experience a perfect chance to reconnected with the beauty of nature. The festival's enchanting gardens, mesmerizing floral exhibits, educational sessions, and engaging activities made for a truly immersive and uplifting event. Whether you're an avid gardener, a flower lover, or simply seeking a delightful outing, this festival is a must-visit.
