ABBIE AUSTEN-SAUNDERS

LONDON & BEYOND

A BIT ABOUT ME

I have a strong passion for creativity and nature, which naturally led me into floristry. I love working with seasonal flowers, experimenting with colour palettes, and creating designs that feel both modern and organic.

Outside of floristry, I enjoy visiting markets and garden centres for inspiration, as well as keeping up with current trends in design and styling. I also love photography, especially capturing floral arrangements and natural details, and I enjoy spending time outdoors, which helps influence my work.

Favourite flower… It’s hard to choose just one, but I’d say garden roses. I love their scent, movement, and how versatile they are across different styles, from romantic to more modern arrangements.

QUALIFICATIONS

I hold a Level 2 City & Guilds qualification in Floristry, which provided me with a strong foundation in floral design, techniques, and flower care.

In addition to my formal training, I bring over 10 years of hands-on experience in the floristry industry, working across luxury retail, weddings, and large-scale events. Throughout my career, I have developed advanced skills in floral design, installations, client consultations, and event execution.

I have also held senior roles, including Store & Events Manager, where I lead projects from concept through to delivery, combining both creative and commercial expertise.

EXPERIENCE

I have over 10 years of experience in the floristry industry, specialising in luxury weddings, events, and high-end retail. I’ve worked across a variety of roles, from lead floral designer to store and events manager, delivering everything from small bespoke arrangements to large-scale installations.

My experience includes managing projects from initial client consultation and concept development through to production, logistics, and on-site installation. I’ve worked closely with clients, planners, venues, and creative teams to bring each vision to life while maintaining a high standard of design and execution.

I also have experience leading teams, managing freelance staff, and overseeing the day-to-day running of a busy store, combining both creative and operational expertise.

PREFERRED TYPE OF FLORISTRY WORK

My favourite type of floristry work is weddings and large-scale events, as I love the creative process of transforming a space and bringing a client’s vision to life. I particularly enjoy working on bespoke designs where I can develop a concept from the initial brief through to the final installation.

I’m especially drawn to natural, seasonal designs with a modern, elegant feel, and I enjoy creating impactful installations that elevate a space and create a memorable experience.

I also really value the collaborative side of event work, working closely with planners, venues, and clients to deliver something truly special.
