A BIT ABOUT ME

Over the past year I have recently discovered a local wild swimming group which I attend on Thursdays, this is such a lovely way to feel connected with nature and challenge myself (especially when the water is chilly!) I am interested in foraging and attempt to brew up various concoctions from dandelion honey to elderflower cordial, this is an adventure I share with my soon to be 6 year old daughter. My cat’s are a big part of the family, physically big (as they are Maine Coons) and also big personalities to go with! Other interests include painting, yoga, watching stand up comedy and travel, as I used to live in South Korea, however as I am now a self employed homeowner with a young family the travel lifestyle is currently on hold!

Favourite flower… Currently Fritillaria but that will change weekly

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications wise, I obtained a level 2 City & Guilds Award in floristry 2016-2017. However it is in my floral history that I have received the most valuable experience.

In the early days between 2006-2008 I worked part time as a Saturday girl in my local flower shop in Aberdeenshire. After gaining a place in Duncan of Jordanstone School of Art and completing a BA Degree in Acting in London. I taught English in East Asia for 2 years before returning to Floristry in Manchester in 2016. I worked for Venus Flowers on Oxford Road 2016-2018 working from Junior to Senior florist. In 2018 I was Head Florist and Creative lead for a new brand Ixia Flowers in which my team and I were awarded silver at RHS Tatton for a floral installation. After a break to have a family and various interruptions due to the Covid pandemic I went full-time self employed in March 2022 with my own business The Feel Good Florist. In June of 2022 I participated in the RHS Flower School with an installation and live demonstrations. With the business focusing mostly on Weddings I won The Wedding Industry Awards for the North West Wedding Florist 2024 and North West Newcomer of the year. Most recently I was awarded 2025 National Wedding Florist of the Year.
